Yesterday, I woke up to my 6th Sunday morning in lockdown and had an idea. I’ve been so busy spring cleaning my house, working shifts, homeschooling 3 children while managing my own business that I’ve been neglecting myself! So, I decided to do something for myself to make myself feel better. Normally, when I do my hair I ask my daughter for help. She’s very talented with hair, but she doesn’t have experience with highlights yet but I know someone else who does! My husband helped my late mother in law with her hair often when he was growing up.
So, I asked my husband for help putting highlights in my hair! His initial response was no. He reminded me that he’s tried doing this for me in the past, only for me to cry and say he ruined my hair in return for his time and energy. I dyed my hair with a box last month, and have multiple wigs in my Amazon account on standby so I was very well informed of and prepared for any potential complications. I promised him he would NOT be accountable or responsible for ANY unsatisfactory results. He reluctantly agreed!
My husband and daughter both helped me do the highlights. We used foil and timed it for 70 minutes. When it was time to take the foil off & rinse I was shocked by how good the highlights came out!
This then created a domino affect for me. My 6th Sunday in quarantine suddenly turned into a self- care Sunday with a full blown makeover! Next, my daughter and I applied sunless tanner. During the drying process we applied party nails! I concluded the day by pampering myself with a facial for glowing skin.
With my new highlights, bronze glow, new nails and fresh facial I was feeling AMAZING! I was looking good, and FEELING GOOD because of it! Going forward, I’ve declared ALL SUNDAYS Self-care Sundays & I invite you to join the movement with me!
