Safety & Sanitation Certifications For Estheticians

Our whole world has changed because of the virus, but that’s okay because we are very good at adapting to changes. We will all carry on, and get through this together. Right now, our whole planet is on lockdown, but some parts are preparing for certain businesses to reopen in the next few weeks. For the beauty business to move forward, we must adapt and learn to live with the virus while maintaining standard precautions to keep our clients and ourselves safe.

I was very impressed to see how many companies have developed infection control practices and certification classes, and was excited to try them.

The first certification I took was the Dermalogica Clean Touch Certification. This course is entirely FREE! Once you go to Dermalogica’s Learning Center you’ll want to login, or create an account if you don’t have one. Click classes, and look for Dermalogica Clean Touch Therapy as pictured below. Click the image to take the class. The class was short, and informative. The class introduced Dermalogica’s 12 Principles for Enhanced Service Safety. The course focuses on how to protect yourself, your clients, and your business during these unprecedented times. Overall, I was very impressed with the course. At the completion of the course you will be tested on knowledge, so be sure to take notes. Once you’ve complete the course you’ll instantly be awarded a certificate on the screen, and a copy will be sent to your email.

Another entirely free certification class I found, and completed is called the Free Barbicide Certification Course. If you’re an Estie like me then you’re already familiar with the brand. This is another short, but informative course. It touches on the law, pathogens, protecting your business, and high risk clients. It’s a good review that reinforces sanitation, and disinfection. At the end of the course you will be given a test to take. Once you’ve completed, and passed the test you will instantly receive your certificate on the screen and a copy will be delivered to your email.
