Conquering Crepey Neck

Crepey neck refers to thin, delicate, sagging, wrinkled, or loose skin in the neck that resembles the appearance of crepe paper. This is an issue many women over the age of 40 are experiencing, and even women younger than that who were chronic tanners at one point in their lives.

Crepey neck is caused by genetics, the natural reduction of collagen and elastin from aging, sun damage, and even posture can play a role.

The best way to avoid this concern is prevention. Using SPF daily is the #1 way to avoid wrinkles. Proper hydration, and proper skin care will also prevent wrinkles. If you feel like you’re not drinking enough water, you can always increase your fruit and vegetable intake for hydration. An adequate amount of vitamins A, C, and E are essential. You can increase your vitamin A intake by loading up on green, leafy vegetables like spinach, lettuce, and kale. Lemons, limes, and oranges are an excellent natural source of Vitamin C. Sunflower seeds, almonds, and peanuts are packed full of Vitamin E. Maintaining good posture is important because looking down at our phones all the time isn’t helping our circumstances. It can actually increase the likelihood of wrinkles, and can also contribute to neck pain, and problems like forward neck syndrome. Just like I tell my children, always keep your phone at eye level.

There are plenty of conservative, and natural treatment options if crepey neck is something you’re already struggling with. Consult with your primary care provider about neck exercises. This is a noninvasive, and conservative way to assist problem areas. Another natural way to conquer the crepey neck is to use avocado, and honey. You can mix the honey and avocado together to create a natural, firming and tightening mask. For skin treatment, I highly recommend the use of retinol, peptides, and enzymes.

Some of my favorite products with retinol that can treat crepey neck include Lira Clinical Pro Retinol Creme, Lira Clinical Pro C4 Retinol Serum, and Skin Script Glycolic and Retinol Pads. You can find peptides in Lira Clinical Pro Anti Aging Pads, and Skin Script Peptide Restoration Moisturizer. I’m a huge fan of Lira Clinical Pro Bio Enzyme Cleanser, and do use and recommend it.
