Benzene in Sunscreen

A lab called Valisure recently announced that they have found benzene in sunscreen products.

In a study, Valisure tested 300 different sunscreen products. 78 of those sunscreen products had benzene in them. Benzene should not be in any sunscreen. Benzene is not an ingredient in sunscreen.

Benzene is a carcinogenic linked to blood cancer. This is believed to be a manufacturing error. Valisure has petitioned the FDA to recall these products.

It’s important to check the sunscreen bottles you have at home to make sure it’s not part of the contaminated batches of sunscreen products.
