Have you heard of laminated brows yet? This beauty trend is a cost efficient alternative to microblading!

Microblading is a beauty trend that involves tattooing a semi-permanent pigment to the brows. This service is performed by Licensed Tattoo Technicians in my state.

The Brow Lamination service is like a perm for the brows, and it leaves the brows looking tall, big, shiny, and smooth. It relaxes and redirects the brows. This is a service offered by Licensed Estheticians in my state.

What To Expect When Getting The Service

Make sure you fill out a consultation form prior to starting your service. This information is kept confidential, but it’s important so that the Licensed Esthetician knows if you have any allergies or contraindications to keep your skin safe.

Plan for the service to take at least one hour. It can take more or less time depending on many factors, including if you choose to add on other services or not.

Waxing or tinting is offered as an add on at Skin Therapy by Jonelle. My daughter and I both got invited to get our brows laminated here, and we were very happy with our results! We also had our brows waxed, and tinted as well.

The process was painless for both of us.

Contraindications

Some contraindications include, but are not limited to, eczema, recent eye surgery, sunburn, recent use of a retinol, use of blood thinners, dermatitis, rosacea, pink eye or other eye infections, and pregnancy.

Side Effects

You may experience mild swelling, redness, peeling, itching or bumps after the service. I have sensitive skin. I had a small amount of redness and swelling after the service, but it was gone by the following morning. My daughter had no side effects.

After Care

Don’t use steam, sweat excessively (skip the gym-trust me!) or wear makeup for the first 24 hours. Don’t exfoliate or use a retinol for at least 72 hours after the service. Use a facial oil to keep your brows hydrated post service.
