Daily Skincare Routine

Are you lost with your skin care routine? No worries! We’ve all been there. The first thing you want to do is see your esthetician for a facial. Your esthetician will analyze your skin, and prescribe the best products to achieve your skin care goals based on your skin type and skin needs. Your home care regimen will be created custom just for you. Can’t get to your local esthetician soon enough? Contact me for a consultation.

Your daily skincare routine should look something like this…

Morning: Perform your first cleanse with your prescribed cleanser. Apply 1-2 pumps or a pea sized amount of the cleanser onto a dry face with dry hands. Use your fingers to massage the product into the skin making circular motions on the face, neck, and chest area. Massage over eye makeup to dissolve surface oil and dirt. Next, apply a blueberry sized amount of the cleanser prescribed to you onto your face, neck, and chest area. Massage the product into the skin with circular motions just as you did earlier with your first cleanse. This is called the double cleanse method. I’m a big fan of Dermalogica’s Precleanse for the first cleanse. It’s really good at removing makeup. Precleanse removes oils without clogging pores enabling your prescribed cleanser to work more efficiently. It also removes makeup easily, and effectively. Next, spritz 2-3 pumps of your prescription toner to hydrate and refresh the skin. I’m in love with Dermalogica’s Multi-active toner! It’s incredibly hydrating, and most skin types benefit from it. Next, apply the moisturizer prescribed to you. Top it off with an SPF 50, and you’re all set for the day! I personally use and recommend Dermalogica Solar Defense Booster SPF 50. Don’t forget to drink lots of water 💧 to stay hydrated!

Evening: Just like in the morning, perform your double cleanse. If you’re prescribed Dermalogica you’ll want to exfoliate with Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant next. Microfoliant is a rice 🍚 based exfoliant that removes dull surface debris, evens out skin tone, and is gentle enough to be used on the face daily, with the exception being after certain treatments. Mix a grape 🍇 sized amount of product in water, and apply to face. Manipulate it into the skin with circular motions. Follow this with any prescribed serums, and then complete your routine by spritzing toner, and applying your prescribed moisturizer 🧴 to your face, neck, and chest area.

You should be using a masque at least once a week in addition to your daily skin care routine. Be sure to ask your esthetician what she recommends for you. As always, I highly recommend drinking an adequate amount of water to stay hydrated in addition to your daily skincare regimen to maintain a healthy glow.
